Excellent, reassuring and very thorough consultation

We saw Mr Moledina regarding our 16 year old son’s thumb UCL injury, after what had been a very stressful and confusing couple of weeks with differing interpretations of his imaging and uncertainty over whether surgery would be required. From the outset, Mr Moledina was extremely thorough and reassuring. He took considerable time to physically examine and assess our son’s thumb, carefully reviewed the ultrasound images, and then talked us through exactly what he was seeing and why. He pulled up images and diagrams to help explain the anatomy and his assessment, which made everything much easier for us to understand. What we particularly appreciated was the time he took both with the physical assessment and afterwards to make sure we properly understood his findings. He listened to all of our concerns and gave us a very clear and honest explanation of why he did not believe surgery was necessary and how he expected the injury to heal with conservative treatment. We arrived as two very stressed and concerned parents and left feeling enormously reassured, confident in his assessment and with a clear understanding of the way forward. Mr Moledina has a very personable and reassuring manner, and combines obvious expertise with an ability to explain things in a way that is easy to understand. We were extremely happy with the consultation and would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending him.

The consultation, decision‑making and aftercare were excellent. Mr Moledina explained the procedure very clearly in layperson’s terms, which helped to calm my nerves as I can be quite squeamish and am an anxious person anyway. I had previously been treated by Mr Moledina for a different procedure (trigger thumb) two years ago, so I was genuinely pleased to be under his care again. Mr Moledina has a highly professional manner while also being sincere, grounded, gentle, kind and humble. Although this was a minor operation, I never felt that it was treated as minor; I felt cared for with the same warmth and respect you might expect for major surgery, and I appreciated not feeling like a burden on the NHS, I couldn't rate Mr Moledina highly enough, I'm immensely grateful. The aftercare with Mr Moledina was very thorough. Even though the wound has healed very well, he still took time to ask questions, check for any symptoms and address any concerns. His professionalism is second to none. I don’t usually complete these kinds of surveys, but I wanted to make an exception here because the care I received from Mr Moledina was truly outstanding. I’m immensely grateful.
